Minnesota and South Dakota dealer members are being represented full time by the Pioneer Equip-ment Dealers Association during their respective 2020 legislative sessions in St. Paul and Pierre. The Minnesota legislative session began yesterday, February 11, and South Dakota’s session began Tuesday, January 14. (North Dakota’s legislative session convenes in odd-numbered years and therefore is not in session during 2020.)

Bills affecting dealers in Minnesota and South Dakota are being continuously monitored by contract lobbyists in each state, a process that is overseen by Pioneer EDA President/CEO Mat-thew Larsgaard. Issues coming to the forefront this year include right-to-repair, legalization of marijuana, worker’s comp, MN conformity to Section 179, and more. Dealers are encouraged to stay in touch with their state legisla-tors and will be alerted to developments requiring a Call to Action by our dealers.
